I’ve been a sports car enthusiast since I could walk. I still remember the almost daily polishing the bumper of my Dad’s ’67 Lemans and being told to make sure that I leave some chrome left. My Father and I used to see who could do the best burnout when I became of legal driving age. Although he made sure that he had the upper hand by buying me my first car, ’67 VW Beetle.
Shortly after that I leveled the playing field by talking him into letting me buy a ’78 TransAm (T/A 6.6 black on black with screaming eagle) torque monster that I couldn’t get more than 10k miles on a set of tires.
Since then, if my memory serves me correctly, I’ve owned 26 cars, 4 motorcycles, a sport boat, a camper and had the use of many motorsport products as a perk. I’ve driven on many terrain from off-roading with my Jeep to a couple of hours of track time with an ’04 911 Carrera on the 13.7 mile Nordschleife of Nurburgring Race Track in Germany (9:21 in 40 degree temps w/stock setup).
I would have to say my M5 was my favorite sedan, X5 4.8is best SAV/SUV I’ve ever driven and 911 996 favorite DE car. Although I’d have to say the most exciting drives that I’ve had have been in Italian beauties, nothing like the sound of a car with a prancing horse on it.
